These services are offered for your convenience if our comprehensive DBT programs do not suit your needs. In most cases we encourage full DBT, but we will work with you to determine your eligibility for our other services when necessary.
We provide the option for our therapists to give you a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, even if you do not choose to receive psychotherapy from DBT Center of San Diego. The interview typically ranges between two and six hours, depending on the number of disorders you want assessed and how many of the questionnaires and forms you complete in advance.

We provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Many rigorous research studies have verified that CBT is highly effective for these disorders.

We occasionally allow attendance in our adult skills training groups when the primary therapist is not a therapist at the DBT Center of San Diego. To determine your eligibility, we need to review your current situation and speak with your current therapist. The process of determining your eligibility may take up to several weeks to complete. Please follow the steps below.
Step 1 - Please fill out our inquiry form to request help at DBTCSD. We will contact you within 1-2 business days to discuss your needs and begin the process of determining your eligibility.

Step 3 - Your therapist needs to contact us to set up a phone call to discuss your situation after all forms and questionnaires are completed.
Step 4 - You will need to complete a 90 minute intake interview before attending your first group. Contact your group therapist to schedule your intake appointment.
Step 5 - Once all these steps have been completed, and we have determined you to be eligible, you may enroll in our skills training group.
Individual therapy sessions are generally held once per week, and include skills coaching between sessions. One of your weekly skills groups will be held on Mondays (Dr. Gutierrez) and the other on Thursdays (Dr. Weingarten). Fees for individual sessions are set up on a pay-as-you-go basis. Fees for group are similar to a class. A substantial discount is given for these summer sessions. Please contact us for details.
